As part of GameDev Undergrounds JimJam 48 hour Game Jam, I partied with a small team to create the one level game Ouroboros ring, in line with the game jam theme of The Ouroboros. I was tasked with creating 2 types of music for the game, one to be player during the safe moments and the other to be placed during battles. Fast string ostinatos and runs combined with a heavy percussion and brass worked perfectly for the battle music to really bring the intensity to the maximum. The safe music provided more of a challenge. I really wanted to reflect the location of the game and the Ouroboros theme. Ethnic flues and using scales that come out the common Major/minor scales I found a good tone that worked perfectly. It added some mystery and flavour to the dungeon setting but not anything to panic the player.
